School Governor

We are looking for someone who can bring their skills, strategic thinking and willingness to contribute to our local governing body to challenge and push the leadership of the school to achieve more for our children.

Clerk to the Governing Body

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Governance Professional to provide effective administration and organisational support, guidance and advice on procedural matters relating to our Governing Body.

This is a part-time position, and the demands of the job will be variable from month to month.  The work is term-time only.  A competitive remuneration package is available to the successful candidate.

Full Governing Body meetings are held half termly. Our Governing Body meetings are usually held in evenings and last approx. 2 hours - dates are set well in advance. There may be further meetings held during the year, such as extra-ordinary meetings or meetings of Committee Panels.

 

The Governance Professional will support the Governing Body and its Committees by:

Ensuring meetings are conducted in an effective and efficient manner with due regard to appropriate regulations and guidance.

Ensuring the Governing Body and its Committees are properly constituted in line with the Terms of Reference.

Providing advice and guidance to Governors to ensure that where appropriate, all meetings conform to legal requirements, procedures, the agreed Terms of Reference and all relevant procedures and processes.
