Wednesday/Thursday 7th/8th July

Maths: Time

Look at what you do at different times of the day e.g. 7am wake up, 8am leave for school etc. Use the PowerPoint as resource.

We looked at hour times in class using plastic clocks. If you don't have a teaching clock, use the online clock on this link. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/time/teaching-clock

Reset to 12:00, explain which number the hour and minute hands must point to make 12:00. Then ask your child what time it will be 1 hour later and make the time. Keep going. Explain that the minute hand has to go all the way around the clock to make an hour. Challenge your child by asking what the time will be 2 hours later etc.

See bottom of page for resources.

English

Speak to your child about their daily routine during the week and at the weekend. Using the words First, Next and Last (for example). Encourage your child to tell you what they do in full sentences. Use the English routine resource below for pictorial ideas.
