Monday 22nd February
Phonics: We are having a recap of the most recent Phase 3 digraphs and trigraphs. Please follow the plan below or revisit the sounds that your child has found difficult.
English: In school we are reading the ' Bertie and the Dragonfly' story (see resource booklet below) and completing a few of the activities in the booklet. Please choose the activities you would like to complete, or follow what I have suggested for each day. If you would rather complete the Oak Academy English lessons or do a mixture of the two, please do.

Read the "Bertie and the Dragonfly" story (page 3-5). Talk to your child about the story, check they understood all the language. Complete the discussion activity on page 5 of the booklet (please scribe for your child if they need help, so that you can recall their answers and prompt them to remember).

Help your child to make a collection of a few items to show what they look like and how big they are now (see lesson video). For example, a handprint, photograph, shoe size, height measurement etc.

English: Re-read the 'Bertie and the Dragonfly' story and help your child to complete the vocabulary activity on page 7. Complete page 8 with your child, encouraging them to display the correct emotion to go along with the story.

English: Read the nursery rhyme on page 9 with your child encouraging them to join in with the actions and clap along to the rhythm.
