Campton Academy

Governors

Alan Stupple - Chair of Governors

Alan Stupple - I became a Governor at Campton in 2021 after working closely with the Maths lead and the rest of the staff team. I could see how committed the staff were and wanted to use my experience of working in a number of BEST schools to help support the school achieve its aims. My background is a secondary Maths teacher and I took on the role of trust Maths Lead in 2021.

My contact details are: astupple@bestacademies.org.uk

John Linehan - Executive Principal

Being the Principal of Robert Bloomfield Academy, and a firm believer in the value of community, when the opportunity came up to become the Executive Principal at Campton I jumped at the chance!

While this is my first experience of working directly in a lower school, I have over 20 years of school leadership experience across a number of schools. In that time, I have developed a staunch belief in the importance of the values and culture of an organisation. I am pleased to say that the culture at Campton is kind, caring and nurturing; students do very well here and that is due to the supportive nature of our dedicated staff.

I cannot wait to see what the future brings and look forward to the new experiences that I will have working with lower school age children. I will work tirelessly alongside Mrs Day to ensure that there are strong links between both schools and that the relationship delivers the best possible educational provision for children at Campton.

Louise Day - Head of School

I have taught in the local area for over 20 years and am now fortunate to serve as Head of School at Campton Academy. I am a primary-trained teacher with a specialism in maths, but my true passion lies in supporting children and families facing challenges, finding creative ways to help them navigate obstacles. I also serve as Co-chair of Governors at a local school.

I am committed to ensuring that every child receives the best possible opportunities to learn and thrive. I work closely with our staff and governing body to set a clear vision and direction for our school, fostering an environment where each child can reach their full potential.

In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing with a good book and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Terry Mace - Co-opted Governor

My wife and I moved to Campton in April 2018, and I became an Associate Governor at the school here in 2019. We have lived in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire since the 1970s, when I worked at British Aerospace Hatfield as a ‘Wind Tunnel Aerodynamicist’, and our two daughters attended school in Great Offley. After BAe, I did a Postgraduate Certificate of Education, and then taught mathematics and computing at a Secondary School in Harpenden before moving into the Computer Industry, where I spent the next 27 years as a software developer, Project Manager and then Technical Director of a company in Cambridge specialising in computer-based training. I was a Governor of the primary school in Whitwell, Herts; one of my activities there was to manage the project to install a new boiler and hot water system. My particular interests are therefore in the teaching of maths, science and computing, but I am keen to be involved in many other aspects of the school – time permitting … In my spare time, I run a website telling the stories of pre-war and civilian WW2 (Air Transport Auxiliary) pilots, and I have also been a volunteer at Shuttleworth Aircraft Museum, helping to restore old aeroplanes. I also enjoy walking, music, travelling, and DIY.
